Parallels Mac Address
Summary:
Those of you who deploy parallels as part of your
image, may find a problem where every mac has the
same mac address. Ask any network administrator, this
is not a good thing. This quick tool fixes this
problem pre image deployment or post.
Instructions:
1. Download the "Reset Parallels Mac Address"
application
2. Drag and drop your parallels pvs file onto "Reset
Parallels Mac Address" application
How it works:
A parallels pvs file contains specific information of
virtualized OS such as, amount of memory, hard drive
space, network settings, USB information, etc. The
file also contains the mac address. This droplet
simply removes the line that contains the mac
address. You could do the same thing by using
Textedit, but I made a quick tool anyway.
The next time you run parallels, a new random mac
address will be compiled. Keep this in mind as you
are creating your image. After everything with
parallels is done and ready, then run the quick tool.
